Rep. Barbara Comstock (R-Va.) has given away $3,000 donated to her by Donald Trump, her campaign said.

The money went to the Boulder Crest and Bull Run Warrior retreats, two recuperation centers for wounded veterans that are located in her congressional district, which includes parts of Fairfax, Prince William and Frederick counties.

Comstock, who is in her first term and is running for reelection, received the money from Trump in 2014 and donated it “weeks ago,” her campaign staff said. The action, first reported by the Winchester Star, will appear on her next fundraising report.

A supporter of Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) until his exit from the presidential race two weeks ago, Comstock has yet to declare support for another candidate. She has not said whether she would support the divisive billionaire should he win the GOP nomination.

In December, Comstock spoke forcefully against Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from entering the country.

“It’s unconstitutional. It’s un-American,” she said on “The John Fredericks Show,” a conservative talk-radio show. “It is a silly idea, and it makes no sense,” Comstock said. “It shows a lack of understanding of our basic constitutional systems but also a lack of understanding of the terrorist threat.”

Comstock’s suburban and exurban Northern Virginia district, where many establishment-oriented Republicans fear a Trump nomination, voted for Rubio in the March 1 Virginia presidential primary. Trump, however, took the state overall.

Democrat LuAnn Bennett, who is challenging Comstock this fall, is trying at every opportunity to tie the congresswoman to the Republican presidential front-runner.
